Category: Zone BBS Suggestions and Feedback
Hi,
In lots of other comunitys is a very usefull feature and it would be cool, if we'd have it on the zone, too.
ts called a "friendslist". We all have got friends on the zone and it would be cool to have a list of them. There you can invite friends and they will be in your list, if they register on the zone or you can add other users to this list and the other user will get a Systemmessage, where the request will be, someone wants to have him in his list and he can select if he wants to have him in this list or not. The message could look like that:
"hello xxx, #xxxx,
user y wants you to be in his friendslist! Klick on the following link, if you want to be in his list: http://www.zonebbs.com/xxx he will also be in your list! If you don't want him to have you in his list, klick on: http://www.zonebbs.com/yyy so you won't be in his list and he won't be in yours.
with regards
the zonebbs-admins
P.S: This message was automatically generated, you can't answer it."
The messages in other boards look like that.
It would be cool, if you would add this feature!
yours Sharpay
P.S: sorry for my english.
i'd like this feature as well, sharpay. it's been talked about before, but from what i remember, it was voted no.
i don't see why we can't have it, we could have the log in list at the top, and then underneath, we could have friends:, and a list of friends that are online.you could also set it only to display loged in friends if you want to, or even have a link from the main page where you can manage the list
hahahah sharpay, it's a good idea but while we're talking here through various communications like text chat, zbp and voicemails, why not this one?
and, I guess there is an email list here as well.
hmm. Can't honestly say I'm hot for it. popularity contest? a way to say you've got loads of friends and a statistic to back it up? hmm. it'd be useful for some who only come on here to talk to certain people, but I don't think I'd use it if I didn't have to.
I suggested this once and got it shot down, but that was ages ago! I think it would be cool!!
I don't think there would be much use for it on this site, partly because it's relatively small, and you can already chat with people, ignore the ones you don't like, etc. The friends list works on a gigantic online community like myspace. Like Stevo said, it would only serve as a popularity contest.
HM, that sounds logical to me. Thanks for your replays
Hi Sharpay, yes I agree with you it would be a good idea. But as somebody else said you can blok people who you don't like o the zone.
you can do the same things on myspace and facebook, there are some people here i'd want to talk to, but hate sorting through all the list to see if they're on.
dan, small?
steve, a good thing about the friend list, is that you can talk to the people you most like easier. as i said, you could set the display, so if there was no log in list, where is says "21 users loged in:" you could set it so it says for example, "3 friends loged in"d
The main reason why we don't have a firend's list like feature is because it goes against the ever expanding community idea. If you only talk to your friends, you will never make new one. Further, if you want to have a chat with just 2 or 3 people, there are already hundreds of other places to do this. And finally, I have to agree with posts 6 and 8. With all this being said, we are still always looking for new ideas, so don't let the fact that one was shot down discourage you from putting forth others.
You could vaguely replicate this idea using the already implemented "Person Watch" feature.
yeah, but it's not really the same is it
I think the addition of a friends list is a good idea. you could still chat with the community at large. The friends list features could be adjusted in the my account settings. It could be presented as an option to activate friends list or not. Those who like the feature can use it and those who do not want it could choose not to activate it for their account. For those of us who are standard members and dont have access to the person watch, it would make determining which of the people you chat with most are online at a given time.
@flcomputergeek: Thaks alot, thats what I thought about!
